You may just not be interested in going to college and want to get a job out of high school making good money. You may also plan on getting your college degree at some point in time, but would like to be able to get a good paying job out of high school while you work and go to school to pursue your degree. Ironworker Skills Institute is a Training Facility that prepares future Ironworkers for the job demands in Ironworking through detailed book work and hands on learning lab experience with a dedicated team of administrators and educators that help you through the program. At the completion of the high school workforce development training program, you are issued a Certificate in Ironworking from NCCER and are ready to go to work on any worksite with the confidence you need to succeed with the opportunity to get a job making $50k-$75k per year to start. As a student you are required to take modular tests before moving on to the learning lab portion of the module. Attendance is key to success and no student is allowed to miss more than 10 days of instruction.

NCCER Ironworker Level 1Total Level Hours: 235 Hours(includes 72.5 hours of Core Curriculuma prerequisite for Level 1 completion) NCCER Ironworker Level 2Total Level Hours: 162.5NCCER Ironworker Level 3Total Level Hours: 150 Completion of Core and Level 1, 2, & 3 with a grade of 75% or higher will earn students a Certificate in Ironworking. Students that complete the program are offered interviews with Garrison Steel and other partnered companies with Ironworker Skills Institute. Jobs and pay are not guaranteed through Garrison Steel or any other partnering company.
The High School Program is a three semester program which includes all training materials, tools and equipment needed to complete your education. The cost of the program is paid through grants and donations so the only out of pocket expense to the student is a $25 non-refundable safety fee and provide your own steel toed shoes or boots.The High School Program follows the regular school year calendar:Fall Semester Begins in August and ends in DecemberWinter Semester: January - May8-Week Summer Semester begins early June (July 4 holiday off)
The High School Program is funded through grants and donations. There is no cost to the student for tuition.
The high school students start classes for the fall in August. Their first and second semester are 18 weeks long at 2 hours per day. The summer semester is 8 weeks long at 4 hours a day. Also, included are two special 8 hour day training events per semester as well as online learning time (homework). High school students attending all three semesters with successful completion of all modules, graduate the last Friday in July.
